Dr. Monica Peterson is a former special education teacher and the founder of Inclusion Learning Center (an inclusive preschool) and Inclusive Kids (a company dedicated to supporting children with developmental delays and learning challenges). With a deep commitment to fostering an environment where every child feels valued and celebrated, she writes stories that inspire understanding, empathy, and friendship among young readers and their families

After years of working in diverse classrooms, Dr. Peterson recognized the need for stories that reflect the beauty of inclusion and the importance of embracing differences. This passion led to the creation of Be Inclusive, a heartwarming tale designed to teach children the value of kindness and acceptance. She believes that through storytelling, children can learn to appreciate each other's unique qualities and build a more inclusive world.

When she isn’t writing or advocating for inclusive education, you can find Monica traveling with her family or friends, listening to an interesting podcast or reading a good book. For this debut children’s book, Monica draws inspiration from experiences with her own children and their discussions as they navigated natural curiosities about human differences at school and in the community.
